Current Press Releases

Assalaamu alaikum, brothers and sisters:

The Islamic Society of Milwaukee is pleased to announce that the City of Brookfield Plan Commission unanimously approved scheduling a public hearing on the preliminary plans for construction of a 13,000 square foot building on properties that the ISM acquired at 16650-16730 W. Pheasant Drive. We also ask Allah (SWT) to bless and accept the efforts of those in the ISM West community, and especially the ISM West Task-force, and others who have worked so hard to get this project to the stage that it is at now.

You can view a power-point presentation regarding the current status of the project by going to the following webpage on the new ISM Website here and clicking on the button for the power-point presentation at the bottom of that page:

(Approval by the Plan Commission to go to public hearing is the first step towards official approval. The second step is a public hearing before the Plan Commission, which will take place in about 60 days. If the Plan Commission, insha'Allah, approves the plan, it will go to the Brookfield Common Council for formal approval. It should be noted that several Brookfield alderman and the Mayor serve on the Plan Commission and two other alderman were present and all of them voiced support for the project. There also will be a neighborhood meeting before the public hearing before the Plan Commission, but as the neighborhood is an industrial area devoid of any significant number of residential homes, it is not anticipated that this will be a significant event.)

ISM President
