Salam School is a full time K4-12 school that is operated by the Islamic Society of Milwaukee. In addition to offering core classes in “reading, writing and arithmetic”, Salam School also provides Arabic language and Islamic study courses.
Salam School is accredited by National Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA) (www.ncacasi.org) as well as the Wisconsin Religious and Independent Schools Association (WRISA) (www.wrisa.net).
Salam School is committed to providing a quality academic education in an Islamic environment. Salam School also seeks to educate the students of the community to be comfortable with both, their Muslim faith and their American culture.
Salam School operates on two campuses. The grade school is located at 815 W. Layton Avenue. The middle and high school are located in the main facility of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee, 4707 S. 13th Street. For the 2011-2012 school year, Salam School has 740 enrolled students and about 85 staff members. Salam School staff members come from diverse backgrounds, including various faith communities.
