The Islamic Society of Milwaukee, in coordination with the Council of Wisconsin Islamic Centers (CWIC), is actively involved in collected new and gently used clothing for the new Afghan arrivals who are located in Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. Local contributing organizations include Masjid Al-Quran, the Milwaukee Islamic Dawah Center, Muslim Community and Health Center (MCHC), the Milwaukee Chapter of the Muslim American Society (MAS), Advocates for Immigrants’ Rights (at UW-Law School), Hayat Pharmacy, Masjid Mubarak, Burmese Rohingya Community of Wisconsin, St. Paul Lutheran Church (West Allis) and many others! Thank you very much for your generosity and concern.
The Islamic Society will continue to collect new and gently used clothes. Clothes should be dropped off at our warehouse space at 811 W. Layton Avenue (building behind O-Reilly Auto Parts and adjacent to Hayat Pharmacy - double metal doors with red awning above them). Drop off times are as follows: Thursdays from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and Saturdays from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. She graduated Sunday, December 17th alongside other University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee classmates during the commencement ceremony. Yusuf graduated with more than 2,000 UWM students.
